BRS 1000™, Rearfoot : A highly durable carbon rubber we invented for use in out-soles. BRS stands for Blue Ribbon Sports, which was our name before we came up with Nike. The tie-in? Both BRS and Nike last ... and last...

Duralon™, Forefoot : Delivers additional cushioning to the forefoot, which then enables a smooth toe-off. It is very soft, so it might not be as durable as other out-sole materials depending on the surface on which the shoes are worn. It is typically found in the forefoot area of a running shoe, so the durability doesn't affect the overall life of the shoe itself.

Fitsole™ Sockliner : Engineered for under foot cushioning and molds to the shape of the foot for greater fit.

Knit Construction : A seamless knit upper built from a single panel to provide a snug fit of a sock. It has a static properties for structure and durability with precise placement of support, flexibility and breathability, all in one layer. The result a featherweight, form-fitting and virtually seamless upper with benefits such as, Reflective elements for visibility in low light, Pull-tab on heel for easy on and off, Low-profile knit tongue for ventilation and comfort.

Lunarlon™ System : Formerly know as Lunarlite, Composed of a LunarLite foam core bonded to a Phylon carrier, designed to enhance cushioning with increased energy return : Lunar Lite : Introduce by Nike in 2008, the Lunar foam has it’s roots from NASA’s space shuttles. Lunarlite foam distributes impact more evenly across the foot. Moreover Lunarlite foam’s “pillow-like” softness not only provides superior cushioning but significant energy return : Phylon : Originally used in dolls, it is a heated and compressed EVA foam cushioning compound that is light, resilient and capable of giving a soft, smooth ride. As a bonus, it is non-yellowing and impervious to attack from water and microbial.

Nike® Plus : A pocket under the sockliner for secure placement of Nike + sensor. Connected to Nike Sportband or Apple iPod Series for on screen display of : Information on time, distance, calories burned and pace; real-time audible feedback also is provided through headphones.

Strobel Last : The upper is attached to a thin material that is patterned on the shape or silhouette of the midsole. Traditional strobel lasts use a thin cloth material, while newer variations use a thin sheet of EVA for a more cushioned feel.
